Equipment_Utilization
Intro: See exactly your company utilizes its equipment on a monthly base.
In Kompass: If we will head to "Schedule" and scroll down to the "office" user, we can see all the equipment that are stuck in the office. We can then decide whether we should sell some or off-hire. It is not easy though to get the utilization figures. Also, what if an equipment is assigned to an employee who is not working on any task? And the equipment is dormant in their storage? We cannot easily grab that piece of information in Kompass.
File Needed: This file is using an API Token, therefore, there is no need to export any data from Kompass. We will send you the file via email.
Uploading method: API Token
The File: The file needs your API Token to update. Firstly, select the time period of your analysis and then click the "Refresh Here!" button, all found in the "HOW TO" sheet.
Similar to most such files, there are some instructions on how to use the file in the sheet itself.
In the "Data" sheet, you can find several goodies.
Find the utilization on task and on assignment by equipment category or for each equipment. Utilization on task is the percentage of days the equipment is being used on a task. Utilization on assignment is the percentage of days the equipment is not dropped to the office. The higher both these percentages, the better.
Find out which department is utilizing which equipment category and equipment the most. As before, feel free expanding or collapsing your dataset to show categories or individual equipment.
Check your utilization by department or by equipment category.
Finally, manage your utilization by seeing how it's changing during the months. Investigate how it changes by equipment owner. You most certainly want the hired equipment to be fully utilized.
Further analysis: File is already slicing the data in numerous ways. Feel free adding more tabs, graphs, and pivots to your liking.
