How can I update the version of Kompass?
Description
Kompass is getting updates very frequently (sometimes multiple times a day) and you might want to update the version to get access to new features or to improve the performance. Or maybe something doesn't work for you but for others. This is when an update to the newest version is useful.
First Steps
If you come across missing features or something doesn't work as expected, then there are two main reasons why that might be happening:
- Change to your access permissions.
- Working on an older version of Kompass.
How to address the issue
If your permissions have changed, please speak with the Kompass champion of your organization.
For versioning, you can check your current version at the bottom left part of your Kompass page (25.2.6 on this instance). If a new version is available, a blue button will appear. Click the blue button to update to the latest version of Kompass.
If there is no blue button but the version is outdated
Occasionally your browser might not pick up new versions correctly and needs a hard refresh to clear out old cached data.
Performing a hard refresh is easy, and the commands vary slightly depending on the browser and operating system you are using (note: clicking the "refresh" button on the browser doesn't do a hard refresh):
Google Chrome / Firefox / Internet Explorer/Edge
- Windows: hold down Ctrl and then press F5 on your keyboard
- Mac/iOS: hold down Command and Shift, then press R on your keyboard
Safari (Mac/iOS)
- First step: hold down Command and Option, then press E
- Second step: hold down Command and then press R
This should remove any cache of Kompass and refresh the page.
