Create and edit quote/ proposal item templates
Note: Kompass form field labels can be customised for different Kompass instances. It is likely that some fields are will be named differently in your version of Kompass.
When creating a new proposal item for a proposal or an already accepted project, you might find yourself repeating and copy/pasting proposal item descriptions for other projects. To address this, Kompass BMS allows you to create templates and use them in new proposal items to save time in creating your tasks.
Create a Proposal Item Template
From either the “Proposals” or “Projects” pages, select a project and click the Sales tab. Then go to the Proposal Items list. Click "Create" at the top right corner to create a new Proposal Item.
To create a template, you must first populate the proposal item fields including general information and finances. Though not required, it is a good practice to populate staff, equipment and/or subcontractor, and other costs. When ready, click the icon at top of the page next to the "Select a template" drop down list and click "Create new template."
Note that the template will be created only when the message bellow appears. If that message does not appear, your template has not been saved due to missing mandatory fields. A good way to check for what is missing would be to seek for all fields in the proposal item page that have an asterisk next to them.
Alternatively, if you try to save the proposal item, Kompass will notify you regarding the missing field data.
Update a Proposal Item Template
To edit an existing proposal item template, select it from the drop-down menu below.
Upon selection, Kompass will populate all pre-defined fields from the template.
You can proceed with any alterations in the template and then update it by clicking the button next to the drop-down menu and selecting "Update template."
Delete a Proposal Item Template
When in a proposal item page, first select the proposal item template you want to delete. Then click the button next to the "Select template" drop-down menu and click "Delete template."
Note that if there is no template selected, the only available option in this clickable menu is "Create new template."
Change the Proposal Item Template for an Existing Proposal Item
You can also change the template on an existing proposal item. Simply navigate to the proposal item and select the template that will override the existing information.
